Hello everyone,

My name is Mike and for the last few years I've been developing projects
using microcontrollers, like Arduino.

Having to frequently solve the trouble to run my projects from battery
and also add wireless communication I've decided to built a development
platform with those features already built-in!

Please, take a look on my first Kickstarter project:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/340271897/whisper-node. I would
like to highlight that I'm not a company trying to get free-ads here,
I'm just a guys sharing my experience and effort...

I believe that many of you in this forum might be interested in this
product, especially for those developing Internet-of-Thigs ideas which
demand run on battery for long periods.

Let me know if you have any question or suggestion about this project or
about running Arduino in low-power as well low-power techniques for RF
communication... and I'll try to answer or share any experience.

Thanks!
Mike M.

Just an update on that, the product is already in production and
available to the public. More details about it can be found on the
following link:

That was fast work! Congrats! But on the site it states that the Talk²
Whisper will be available Nov. 2016?

Hello,

That was just an estimate. Units will start to ne shipped soon. Actually
a few units have already been shipped to test the logistics.

Cheers

Thanks... We're keen to start see it in action on different projects. We
maybe start some kind of "post your project" on our Blog when we have
enough boards out there and give the opportunity for people to share
practical ideas. In exchange we probably will give back some kind of
reward for the most popular ones.

Cheers,
Mike M.

Hello,

Just a quick update on this post. Good part of the documentation for the
Whisper Node is already available at:

https://bitbucket.org/talk2/whisper-node-avr

Also, the Talk2 Boot Load source code can be accessed here:

https://bitbucket.org/talk2/talk2boot

The bootload is a modified version of Optiboot with additional support
for self-programming from external SPI Flash.

Cheers,
Mike M.

Found this article using the same board, quite interesting:

Hi All,

Just to let you know that we've created a LoRa version for the Whisper
Node: https://wisen.com.au/store/products/whisper-node-lora/.

The board still have the low-power features from the original Whisper
Node but now using the RFM95 module. Also the power supply circuit has
been updated with built-in voltage detector and it's capable of
automatically switch between the step-up and LDO based on the input
voltage.
