1 button control digital clock fsm

For my project i need to design a digital clock in vhdl and implement it 
on a fpga. The digital clock it self is complete. But now ik need to 
make a 1 button control to set the clock.
I would like to make a fsm wich changes state when i hold a push button 
for ex. 5 sec.

Could some one help me out with that part pls?

For sure, but it doesn't get you any further if someone tells you a way 
for a implementation without knowing anything about your specific 
implementation of the clock.

Let us have a closer look at it: can you pls. post your design?
