OK. I try another way to answer:
In case I would be you, I would be eager to learn criteria, which would 
allow me to decide myself - or at least allow me to ask pointed 
questions.

So the first question would be: Which criteria are relevant for 
connecting by raw and which one when connecting by video?

Oh, thats an easy one.

First you have to define a way to measure "bettericity".

After associating a bettericity value with the camera using raw output 
and the one with the board-like video output, you simply order the 
scores in a descending manner and pick the first one.
