Forum: Off Topic FCC declaration / authorization of simple AVR circuit

Dear all,

I am a hobbyist located in Germany and planning to sell a few USB
devices based on the Atmel AT90USB uC series. Other than the crystal
oscillator (@8MHz) and some I/O pins, there is not much RF going on, and
it comes in a metal enclosure. Now I am not sure whether this kind of
device would require FCC authorization in order to be imported to the US
or Canada. I went through the regulations, but I could not quite figure
out a correct way to handle this. Anyone?

Thank you,
Matthias
