Important notice
 

1. 2 main functions: (1) Share data between 2 sets of computer ( link )

                                    (2) Build in Local Area Network (Network)

2. It has the same function as Network card, and enable the PC to share internet; Enable them to share Printer、CD-ROM、Scanner and other peripheral equipments.

4. Only under Win98se,the driver should be installed.

 

How to visit Windows 2000 / Windows xp from the other operating system

Preface : all the settings on the computers' workgroup must be same .

1. Windows 2000 ( All the computers must be installed NetBEUI protocol )

Firstly you need to set up an User name in the Windows 2000 for the other operating system and share one of the disk or printer , you may not set up any password ; and also you need to set up the same User Name in the other operating system . You just need to start-up the both computers with the same User Name , and they can inter-access and share information .

2. Windows xp ( All the computers must be installed NetBEUI protocol )

Firstly you need to set up an User name in the Windows xp for the other operating system and share one of the disk or printer , you may not set up any password ; then click '' start '' —> '' control panel '' —> '' Management tool '' —> '' Local security setting '' —> '' Local policy '' —> '' User right assignment '' , please delete GUEST user from '' Reject accessing this computer from network '' ;  and also you need to set up the same User Name in the other operating system . You just need to start-up the both computers with the same User Name , and they can inter-access and share information .

This protocol is always set under the file of system installation icon E:\VALUEADD\MSFT\NET\NETBEUI

NetBEUI (NBF) is a non-routable protocol suitable for small networks. Support for this protocol in Microsoft Windows has been discontinued. If you are instructed by the Product Support Personnel to install this protocol as a temporary measure, follow the instructions below. Installation instructions for NetBEUI protocol on Windows XP and Windows 2002.

* copy nbf.sys into the Windows\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ directory

* copy netnbf.inf into the Windows\INF\ directory

* open network connection properties and use "Install..." button to add NetBEUI protocol

 

Notes : If your operating system has been upgraded as SP2 , you can not find the Windows xp computer and common files in the Local Area Network even though you did everything according to the above steps . You must input the other computer's IP address ( the other computer must have been set up an IP address ) from '' start '' —> '' Run '', then you can access the other computer .
