Hello,

Happy New Year to all.

I have a problem with the crystal, it doesn't oscillate, and i don't
know why

I am using a microcontroller MSP430F1611, and a 8 MHz crystal, I have
already tested with many crystals and nothing works.

The crystal is connected to the microcontroller through the pins 52
(XT2IN) and 53 (XT2OUT), and to 2 capacitor of 15 pF each one, in each
side of the crystal. (These both capacitors are connected to ground)

Also I have replaced the microncontroller with a new one, but the
results is the same, no oscillation.

Anyone knows something about it??

I would appreciate your help.

Regards,

Edgar Robles

Oh...blame on me...

Maybe wrong wiring?

Hey Edgar,
you have to initialise the crystal.

Here are some code examples:
